NuLeaf CBD Oil

What is CBD?
Cannabidiol otherwise known as CBD is a compound found in cannabis (marijuana) and its close relative hemp plant. Hemp and cannabis both contain large amounts of natural CBD, but hemp is naturally low in tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), thus making it easier for manufacturers to create high CBD infused products with low to non-existent THC levels. CBD is a safe, non-intoxicating and non-addictive compound, that has shown promise in treating and managing the symptoms of broad range of diseases.

Differences between CBD and THC?
Cannabidiol (CBD) when consumed does not cause the euphoric effect tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) does. And it’s 100% legal. Therefore, no lightheadedness, distortion or “high” feeling. NuLeaf CBD oil, offered at American Health Center, contains trace amount of THC (<0.3%) which is not over the legal limit of THC levels according to U.S. Federal Law. It’s not enough to be intoxicating, but enough to allow the CBD to be 100% effective. THC and CBD work best together. They interact synergistically to enhance each other’s therapeutic effects with wider window of efficacy.

What forms can the CBD be consumed in?
CBD comes in many forms like CBD oil, topical creams, food products/edibles, tinctures, capsules, vapor, spray, and many other. American Health Center offers a CBD oil that can be applied directly to the skin or taken sublingually underneath the tongue.
Benefits of CBD oil?
There are numerous benefits to CBD, making it a popular supplement. CBD oil alleviates pain anxiety, depression, inflammation, seizures, and sleep disorders (both falling and staying asleep).

How does CBD oil work?
Our bodies make own natural cannabis like molecules called endocannabinoids in a bodily system known as the endocannabinoid system (or ECS). Endocannabinoid system (ECS) regulates the body’s homeostasis, or general state of balance in response to changes in the environment. ECS is made up of millions of cannabinoid receptor sites located throughout the body to regulate appetite, digestion, memory, inflammation and pain. Research has shown CBD can improve and restore balance within the body by bonding with those receptors and promote overall health and wellness in individuals. In summary, it keeps the body balanced and running normally.

How to use NuLeaf CBD oil?
Shake the bottle before use. Use a stopper, select the appropriate dose (number of drops) and place it under the tongue. For maximum absorption, hold the oil under the tongue for 30 seconds to a few minutes before swallowing. Start with a small dose (10 drops per day, 25mg of CBD/day) and over time you can increase the dose and frequency until you achieve your desired results. Appropriate serving size vary greatly between individuals. It depends on factors such as intended use, body weight, metabolism, and body chemistry. You can take the CBD oil at any time of day (morning or evening). However, if you’re using it to improve sleep, take it before bedtime. The immediate effects usually take effect within 30-90 minutes, but long-term results may take several weeks. Ideally patients should be taking it daily vs sporadically.

Are there any side effects of CBD oil?
CBD oil interacts with the ECS in a way that produces very few unintended side-effects. However, everyone is different, and one individual may experience side effects while another may not. Some of the possible side effects may include dry mouth, nausea, decrease in blood pressure, fatigue, diarrhea and lethargy. Keep in mind that CBD and THC in general have biphasic properties, meaning that low and high doses can produce opposite effects. Small CBD dose can improve wakefulness and concentration while relatively high doses can cause lethargy.

What about drug screening?
A positive marijuana test occurs at 50 nanograms of THC metabolites per milliliter, according to Substance Abuse and Mental Health Service Administration guidelines. The consumption of CBD products with only trace amounts of THC will usually not show up on standard drug screens. However, ingesting large amounts (2,000mg of CBD oil daily) may be detected. If this is a concern, you should probably refrain from consuming CBD products.

Interactions with other medications?
CBD can increase the level of blood thinner coumadin and can raise levels of certain other medications by same mechanism that grapefruit juice does. Interestingly, CBD oil is not alone in its effect on drug metabolism. Grapefruit, watercress, St. John’s Wort, and goldenseal all have a similar impact in terms of CYP450 inhibition. CBD at sufficient dosages will temporarily deactivate cytochrome P450 enzymes lead to higher levels of certain drugs in your system at one time. This can cause unwanted side effects. For these reasons, you should consult with a medical professional before supplementing with CBD oil or any supplements.
