Bronchitis is an inflammation of the lining of your bronchial tubes, which are responsible for carrying oxygen to and from your lungs. Usually caused by a cold or other respiratory infection, acute bronchitis is very common. A cough may last for days to weeks in a healthy individual.

Common symptoms of Bronchitis include:

  • Cough
  • Production of mucus
  • Fatigue
  • Slight fever/chills
  • Chest discomfort

When to see a doctor:

  • Lasts more than three weeks
  • Prevents you from sleeping
  • Fever over 100.4
  • Wheezing/Shortness of Breath
