Does the Flu Vaccine Cause Flu?
MYTH: Many people think the flu vaccine causes the flu, however the truth is that, the viruses in the flu vaccine are dead (inactivated), so you cannot get the flu from the flu vaccine, and they are NOT reactivated once injected.
In fact, several studies comparing flu shot recipients to people who get salt-water (placebo) shots show that the only differences in the two groups are that the flu shot recipients experience arm soreness and redness at the injection site.
Flu season is starting and it is wise to get yourself protected, by not receiving the flu vaccine you are putting yourself at high risk for getting the flu and putting you out of work/school for a minimum of 5 days and typically up to 10 days depending on the severity.
Here at American Health Center we offer the flu shot at the lowest price possible, just $25.00 and walk-ins are welcome.
